‘Superman: Man of Steel’ Plot Discovered: Origin, Sexuality Story

Thanks to open casting call on location in Canada, fans now know what the upcoming Superman reboot, Superman: Man of Steel, is about: Clark Kent becoming Superman and saving the world from impending doom.

“Clark Kent/Kal-El is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination,” reads the plot. “Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here?”

Superman: Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman with Kevin Costner (Mr. Brooks) and Diane Lane (she had a lot of sex in Unfaithful) as his earth parents. Amy Adams (cheekbones) plays Lois Lane.

“We think it’s really important that we cover Superman’s origin,” says a super mysterious insider on the set of the project. “We found that most people have no idea who Superman is, where he came from and why he’s here. Despite Superman’s origin being covered in earlier films and it being a part of the American psyche, we feel, or excuse me, [director Zack Synder] feels we need to remind audiences where Superman came from.”

The insider goes on: “He’ll also wrestle with his sexuality. Is he attracted to Lois? Yes but is it for the wrong reasons? Is it because she’s a bitch? Are men bitches? Is Superman a bitch too? We’ll spend the entire first act with Superman sitting in a chair thinking about this. We learned — I think we all learned– from Superman Returns, that people want thoughtful story-lines, not action. And moviegoers love seeing the same story done multiple times.”

Superman: Man of Steel arrives in theaters on June 14, 2013.
